Born in Zimbabwe and living in Barcelona since the 1970's, De Swardt played bass guitar with Gato Pérez, Maria del Mar Bonet and blues masters such as Eddie Bo and Johnny Copeland. He was one of the pioneers of electric blues and groove in Catalonia with bands like Big Chief, Box Office or Princess of Time. He is credited with giving bass guitar a unique sonority and an infectious rhythmic beat, and he is now back in the spotlight with a band that includes the cream of the crop of our blues scene.
